Finding Sophia

Interested on taking a Finding Sophia vacation?

Registration for a Finding Sophia trip costs $300.  This sum covers your transportation costs AFTER you arrive at San Diego airport.  It also covers all food and lodging from Thursday evening (dinner) and including Sunday morning breakfast.  Alcohol is not included in this cost if you decided to purchase when out for meals.  You might also want to bring extra cash for incidentals or small gifts to bring home.  Your place on the trip is reserved when we receive your check for $300 and your registration form.  We cannot "reserve" places for anyone.  The Registration Form is below in a PDF format.  Please print out, complete and mail it in.

Each woman on the trip is responsible for raising a minimum of $500 for building costs.  Each home and latrine will cost approximately $6,000.  When we decide what to do on Saturday, this will also depend on how much money was raised for each trip.  All donations to Finding Sophia are tax deductible and all people sending in checks or cash will receive a receipt for their donation.  If at first, raising this money seems like a concern, please let us put you in touch with women from past trips.  There has never been a problem raising the funds and almost always, more money than just the building cost is received.  So don't worry.  It really is not a big deal.  We would be happy to provide you with fundraising ideas.

Currently, we are taking two trips per year, in March and September.  We will consider adding a trip if you have a large group of 12 that would like to go together. 

Finding Sophia is a great experience and a wonderful foray into a service trip.  Never been to Mexico?  Many of the women enjoy their first time south of the border.  Never been on a service trip?  No problem, we will ease you into it.  Like to have fun, learn from other women and get a chance to change lives, then c'mon.  We'd love to have you on our journey.  It's always an adventure!
