Bridge The Gap_Giving_Fuel.png

Friends! We are in UNUSUAL times.
And it can feel overwhelming. What can we do?

Let's
bridge
the
gap

A pandemic is bigger than any one person and our ability to change the circumstances is completely out of our control!

In a “normal” year, we at Finding Sophia head down to Tecate, Mexico every six months and with 12 women from all over the US, build a home for a single mom and her kids. We do this to help bridge a huge gap of safe housing for those moms. Of course, we can't take those trips right now and don't know when we will be able to do so again. That doesn't mean we still can't "bridge the gap" for others here in our own community.

Some of us here in the United States, while struggling to manage a new normal, are better off than others. We can get unemployment if we've been laid off, or our jobs are secure as they are essential or can be converted to remote working. Some of us will even receive a stimulus check.

BUT, some of us in these United States will not have access to any of that. Many of our neighbors will not get any financial help during this pandemic.

We want to bridge that gap. We want to help you help your neighbor.

Do you have a house cleaner that used to clean your house every two weeks? Chances are they might not be eligible for unemployment.

Do you know of a neighbor that is vulnerable and not receiving unemployment or stimulus check due to the resident status?

Do you have a friend that could just use a little help to make it through this time?

Does your heart go out to the farmworkers that are harvesting our food at great risk to their own health that have no other options?

Do you, like us, feel a responsibility to help in whatever way you can, big or small, it doesn’t matter, you just want to do...something?

Whether you feel called to give directly to your neighbor or house cleaner or bartender or baby sitter, or hairdresser, or window cleaner, or day laborer, or gardener, we will help you do so. We want to use our time and non-profit to help you give to those you're worried about and get a tax deduction for doing so. Finding Sophia is a 501 3c and all donations are tax-deductible. 100% of your donation will to your "person" or to farmworker gift cards.

How can we help?

OPTION ONE
You have a person you want to support specifically.  Before you donate, email
mermaidheidi@gmail.com you and Heidi will connect to be sure we are able to deliver the funds to your recipient.  Then you'll donate via our link and we will get the funds to your person as well as send you a tax-deductible receipt.

Or

OPTION TWO
You don't have anyone specific in mind but your heart is heavy for the migrant farmworkers, we are working with a trusted group to deliver grocery gift cards directly into the hands of these vulnerable neighbors.

 DONATE HERE NOW.

Nothing will be subtracted from your donation, we do not charge anything for overhead.  All funds will be transferred in full to the person you are donating to. We are here to help YOU bridge the gap for those in your community.

In hope for the joy and connection taking care of one another brings...
Trish, Marisol, and Heidi
